TITLE I
Title I is a federal aid program for elementary and secondary education. School eligibility for Title I funding is based on the percent of students eligible for free and reduced lunch benefits. Title I funds are used to pay for resources to improve student academic performance. More information about Title I and Title I requirements is on the School District of Palm Beach County website.
SCHOOL-PARENT COMPACT
Federal law requires Title I schools to develop a school-parent compact, a written agreement between the school and parents that is designed to clarify what each can and should do to help students reach high academic standards. The law requires the school to include parents in the discussion and drafting of the compact.
Please direct any questions, comments or suggestions regarding the compact to Jean-Claude Rodney at [email protected].
PARENT INVOLVEMENT PLAN
The school's Parent Involvement Plan (PIP) also is required by federal law. Title I schools are to develop a written plan that conforms with a state template.
PARENT SURVEY
The Title I Family/Parent Involvement Survey was distributed to students on Friday, Feb. 20. Please return completed surveys to school as soon as possible. If you did not receive a survey you may pick one up at school. Please see Mr. Rodney.
SCHOOL PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT
Federal law also requires Title I schools to notify parents of the availability of the School Public Accountability Report (SPAR). The SPAR includes student demographics, graduation and dropout rates, student performance measures, and teacher qualifications. You can view the most recent report for Atlantic High School here, and browse other reports here.
