Help is needed distributing snacks and serving lunch at the Saturday Sizzler. The Saturday Sizzler is an academically focused program providing students with a combination of engaged instruction time and mentorship. Snacks and lunch are provided to students who attend the 8 am to noon Saturday tutorials, and two hours of basketball and mentoring follow the morning academic sessions. Congratulations to English and Journalism teacher Ken Swart, a finalist for the 2013 William T. Dwyer Awards for Excellence in Education. Mr. Swart is one of 25 Palm Beach County educators and one of five high school teachers to be named as a finalist. The Dwyer Award ceremony is Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Read more here.
The Atlantic Community High School Handbook is available on the school's website. It includes phone numbers, the bell schedule for regular and late start days, a list of all 30+ clubs at school, and all the rules and procedures you'd expect to find there.
