ATL senior Kyra Dobard has been named Palm Beach County Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, and will compete for the Florida Youth of the Year title and a college scholarship. Kyra is is a member of the National Honor Society and the Criminal Justice Academy. She plans to study pharmacy at the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University.

Sophomore Jesula Jeannot has been selected to speak at the AVID Center's 2015 Summer Institute in Orlando. AVID — Advancement Via Individual Determination — is a program designed to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities. Jesula's beautifully told story of how AVID changed her life was one of more than 1,000 entries from AVID students from around the world. Congratulations Jesula!

ATL senior Meera Radhakrishnan is one of the high-achieving local women honored by the school board in recognition of Women’s History Month. In her brief speech Meera called attention to the gender gap in math, science, technology and engineering fields.

ATL'S SECME (Science, Engineering, Communications, Mathematics and Enrichment) team placed third overall among 17 schools at the March 28 Palm Beach County SECME Olympiad. ATL students edged out Suncoast to take first place in the Brain Bowl, and placed second in the poster and banner competitions. Congratulations!
