ATLANTIC FACULTY & STAFF: You should have received a PTSA membership form in your mailbox. One of our goals for this year is to provide mini-grants or stipends to teacher members later in the school year. We would love to have 100% teacher participation in the PTSA so we can reward all of our teachers!

You can import events from the Palm Beach County School District calendar into any one of several calendar applications — Cozi, Google, Outlook, iCal, Yahoo and 30 Boxes — so you'll have school holidays, late-start days and test schedules on your own personal or family calendar.

• Editors: Three students --  Andy Lai and Robin Pereira, both seniors, and Jeff Ruben, a junior -- will serve as co-editors this semester, working together to develop and supervise the content and design of the newspaper. Their first order of business: create a new masthead.
• Assistant Editors: The trio will be assisted by photo editors Simone Stewart and Teddi Tinari, features editor Chanty Fleurissaint, sports editor Zikoia Jackson, arts & entertainment editor Bryce Conley, and opinions editors Genecia Reed and Meeshell Duke.
• Press Passes: All student newspaper staff members will be wearing distinctive yellow press passes while out on the campus, on assignment.
• Behavior: Students have been been trained on how to act when they are out on campus, representing The Squall and conducting their interviews.
• Expectations: Students are expected to conduct themselves courteously and professionally at all times. 
• Advertising: The Squall is now accepting ads, which cost as little as $30 for a business card-size ad in one issue, and as much as $500 for a full-page ad in four issues. For more information on ad rates, email [email protected]

The first issue of The Squall for the 2013-14 school year will be distributed in October.

If you plan to volunteer at Atlantic, please be sure to complete the online volunteer application in the school office before your first volunteering gig.

You will need to register again for 2013-2014 even if you were registered last year, but if you have already registered for this year at another school in the district, you do not need to register again at Atlantic. The school district Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) system no longer requires volunteers to register separately at each school.
