FREE TAX FILING ASSISTANCE

The United Way of Palm Beach County offers free tax filing assistance to families whose 2014 household income was $60,000 or less.

The  Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides three options to electronically file your tax return. All options are confidential, safe and free. 

• Have your taxes filed for you: Tax preparation provided by IRS-certified VITA volunteers at several sites across the county.

• Get help filing your taxes: At select sites, file your own tax return with the guidance of an IRS-certified VITA volunteer.

• File your taxes yourself at MyFreeTaxes.com: It's simple, secure, and an IRS-certified VITA volunteer is available to assist you through a toll-free helpline or web chat.

The VITA program has been providing residents of Palm Beach County in-person and online assistance to prepare and file their return for free for the past 12 years.
