Kash is a bloodhound donated to the Palm Beach County School Police Department by the Jimmy Ryce Center for Victims of Predatory Abduction. Kash (his name is an acronym for "kids are safe here") has been stationed with Officer Curtis Riddick at Atlantic High School since last year. After Kash completes his training, he and Officer Riddick will work throughout Palm Beach County to assist in finding missing and endangered children and adults. The Atlantic Community High School Student Government Association, People for Animal Welfare (PAW) Club and Parent Teacher Student Association are hosting a party for Kash on Friday, Dec. 13, during all three lunch periods in honor of his first birthday and to raise money for the Jimmy Ryce Center so the center can donate more bloodhounds like Kash to police departments across the country. Students who purchase a got Kash t-shirt will receive an exclusive invitation to Kash's birthday bash, and all proceeds from the t-shirt sales will go to the Jimmy Ryce Foundation. See your SGA representative for t-shirt ordering details. Two of Kash's brothers and his sister will be at the party, along with Jimmy Ryce Center founder Don Ryce whose son was abducted in 1995. Mr. Ryce will be presented with a check from Atlantic High School. Click here to read more about Kash.
